Eligibility Criteria for CSS Exam

The full form of CSS is Central Superior Services. CSS is one the top competitive exam in Pakistan and students from all over the Pakistan give this exam every year.

It has given a chance to those people who want to get the highest rank in the government sector of Pakistan. Federal Public Services Commission has defined an eligibility criteria for the CSS exam, People coming under this eligibility criteria just can participate in this competitive exam of Pakistan.

The candidate must have bachelor degree (BBA, BSCS, BA, B.COM etc.) with minimum 2nd division from any foreign and Pakistani university recognized by HEC (Higher Education Commission, Pakistan).

The candidates that have got 3rd division in bachelor degree but also scored 1st division in master degree (M.A,MSC etc.) are also applicable for to apply.

Nationality Criteria for CSS Exam

The Applicant must have Pakistani citizenship and permanent resident of Azad & Jammu state.

Age Limit for CSS Exam

The candidate should be between the age of 21 to 30 years for to apply for CSS exam.

Age Relaxation for CSS Exam

2 year Age Relaxation has been allowed for the employee currently serving the government(to at least two year services) for CSS exam. This age relaxation is provided by the related department through provision permission certificate or if an service person belongs to tribal areas like Peshawar and Balochistan district.

Detail of Regional Quota for CSS Exam

Over all Merit for CSS exam: 7.5%,

CSS exam merit for Baluchistan: 6%,
CSS exam merit for GB/FATA: 4%,
CSS exam merit for AJK: 2%,
CSS exam merit for Punjab: 50%,
CSS exam merit for Sindh: 19%,
CSS exam merit for Sindh (Urban): 7.6%,
CSS exam merit for Sindh (Rural): 11.4%,
CSS exam merit for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 11.5%.

Important Points to Note

  • Candidates must have Domicile certificate for to apply on Provincial/Regional Quotas.
  • For Non-Muslims and Minorities 5% quota is reserved from Regions or Provinces.
  • 10% quota has been reserved for the women from the part of Regions or Province Merit.
  • There is no separate quota assigned for Disabled Applicants. Accordance with the Government Recruitment Policy, the criteria of disable will be done.
